All For Love
On June 26th, we invited Hon. John McCallum as our honourable guest to share his experience and life journey with teenagers. We hope to enlarge the youth’s horizons and inspire them to pursue their passion after this event. The amounts we collected through selling tickets and other channels will all be donated to Mon Sheong to support their expansion of facilities and mission to help elders in need. In his speech, Dr. McCallum shared and discussed what he believed were the three most dire issues in society: climate change, racism, and the protection of democracy. Following his intriguing presentation was a productive Q&A session where Dr. McCallum gave audience members his expert opinion and constructive advice.
Mon Sheong Foundation, founded in Toronto in 1964, is a charity organization committed to promoting Chinese heritage and culture through youth education and the care of elders. Mon Sheong is dedicated to fulfilling its mission of providing services, boasting four long-term care centers, an adult day program, three Chinese school campuses, a youth group, two community and volunteer services centers, three independent living senior apartments, and other charity care units. To support Mon Sheong with its mission, OTLF members raised net funds of $5195.54 from sponsors, donations, and event admissions. The members were greeted with a warm welcome when they delivered the funds and 760 bottles of hand sanitizer to the Mon Sheong Corporate Office after the event.
